- Abstract
This article talks about costarrican neologisms which were compiled in two investigations; the first corpus was taken in a survey of lexical availability to teenagers who are taking the last year of high school, and the second corpus was collected in the mass medias and publicity. For both cases the grammar criteria is the same in the neologism formation process because It uses prefixes, suffixes, and a combination of these two, compound words, acronyms, syllabic inversion and the semantic changes. In conclusions youths, mass media communications and the publicity are big generators of neologisms because of the different needs; the creations of new words keep alive and in continues change the language.
