- Abstract
The article offers information on the legal system in Liberia and on the legislation regarding the civil society organizations (CSOs) in the country. It offers an overview of the general legal system in Liberia including the sources of law in the country, branches of the government, and its constitutional framework. It explores the formation and registration in CSOs in which it says that there are two categories of CSOs in the country namely the mutual benefit organizations and the public benefit organizations. It also discusses the regulatory board in Liberia to supervise non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in which it says that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs (MPEA) is the one in-charge for monitoring and evaluating the activities of NGOs.
