- Abstract
The article discusses and presents images of paintings of Franconia Notch in New Hampshire's White Mountains from the latter half of the nineteenth century. It comments on the work "Franconia Notch," by George Albert Frost, examining the idea that it could represent Annie Trumbull Slosson and her brother-in-law William C. Prime, both authors. Other works examined include "Old Man of the Mountains Near Profile House, White Mts.," by Samuel Lancaster Gerry and "Echo Lake and Mount Lafayette," by Alfred Thompson Bricher. Brief timelines outlining the lives of the artists discussed are also presented.
