The article focuses on history of sentencing patterns for juveniles in the and maps the reasoning the U.S. Supreme Court and the Missouri Supreme Court have used in their holdings regarding juvenile life without parole sentences. It mentions de facto life sentences and argues why the Missouri Supreme Court should recognize that de facto life sentences are equivalent to juvenile life without parole sentences. It also mentions sentencing alternatives and solutions.
