The article focuses on the reformation of federal sentencing in the U.S. It mentions about growing movement for justice and sentencing reform and its impact on the scale of incarceration to date; analysis of incarceration and the fundamental objectives of sentencing policy; and enactment of Fair Sentencing Act for addressing issues of mass incarceration in the country. It also mentions about the history of incarceration in the country.
