- Abstract
Another interesting feature is that bioplastics produced from rotten jicama showed faster biodegradation rate compared to bioplastics from fresh jicama. Oil palm biomass is one of the most important biomass resources available due to the widespread plantation of oil palm trees and the downstream processing of palm oil. With the onset of industrialization, increase in the population and depletion of natural resources, it is inevitable that these activities would in one way or another would affect the overall quality of the environment. One type of oil palm biomass is oil palm mesocarp fiber (MF) which has been reported to hold the potential to be used as a filler in polymeric biocomposite systems.
