- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examines the effectiveness of an inpatient Hypoglycemia Treatment Protocol (HTP). The frequency of hypoglycemia was determined using a Markov model based upon historical capillary blood glucose (CBG). The study concludes that the HTP intervention was associated with a reduced frequency and severity of hypoglycemia in each age group and an increase in the amount of the time spent in normoglycemia or mild hyperglycemia.
