- Abstract
The article focuses on the emergence of Indian terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as a transnational threat. A brief history on the formation of LeT is offered which was founded by Islamic scholar Hafiz Muhammad Saeed during the Pakstani-Indian conflict in 1990. Controversies over the support of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency of the Pakistani government for the efforts of LeT are outlined. Issues addressed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen and counterterrorism expert Peter Chalk about LeT are addressed.
