- Abstract
The article discusses the dire state of Gaza's health system, which has been severely weakened by decades of underfunding and a blockade imposed by Israel. Even before the recent escalation of violence, Gaza's health services were already struggling to meet the basic needs of its residents. The current conflict has caused significant damage to hospitals and has overwhelmed the healthcare system, with hospitals treating patients in corridors and nearby streets. The blockade has also led to a lack of electricity and fuel, further exacerbating the crisis. The article highlights the historical neglect of Palestinian health by various governing bodies and the ongoing humanitarian dependence on outside funding. The future of Gaza's health system remains uncertain, as the destruction caused by the conflict will take years, if not generations, to rebuild.
