- Title
Bridges, Buses and Barbed Wire: A Migrant Holiday Season on the Border.
- Authors
Paterson, Kent
- Abstract
Like their counterparts in Juárez-El Paso, the Matamoros migrants confront freezing temperatures, uncertainty, and desperate living conditions. Carefully treading a crossing of slippery stones strung across the shallow Rio Grande between Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, trickles of migrants climbed up the embankment on the U.S. side. The migrants then made their way to Chihuahua City where another caravan was assembled, but this time escorted by Mexican National Guard troops and police to Ciudad Juárez and the border.
