- Abstract
The article discusses the diagnosis and variability of reactive granulomatous dermatitis (RGD), which encompasses conditions such as palisaded neutrophilic and granulomatous dermatitis (PNGD), interstitial granulomatous dermatitis, and interstitial granulomatous drug reaction. RGD can have a variable infiltrate of inflammatory cells, including neutrophils, histiocytes, and eosinophils. The article highlights the challenges in diagnosing RGD due to its clinical and histopathologic features and suggests using a qualifier in the histopathologic diagnosis to indicate the predominant inflammatory cell type. This would aid in accurate diagnosis, association with underlying autoimmune processes, and better management and treatment.
