- Title
Characterizing the interface between wild ducks and poultry to evaluate the potential of transmission of avian pathogens.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted to characterize the interface between wild and domestic animal populations in order to evaluate the transmission potential of pathogens. The study involved comb ducks (Sarkidiornis melanotos melanotos) and poultry in the Inner Niger Delta (IND), a wetland in Mali, and analyzed the spatial and temporal distribution of contact rates. The study revealed a seasonal variation in potential contact rate between comb ducks and poultry.
