- Abstract
Abstract: This study presents a method for integrating power sharing and participation in primary frequency response of power system for distributed energy resources in microgrids. This controller is based on power-angle droop and results in thorough power sharing in islanded mode and constant power in grid connected state. It can be employed in microgrids along with the feature of plug and play for any kind of distributed generation resources involving synchronous generators. Also, this paper analyses the stability of the proposed controller and the conventional power-angle droops in a microgrid with modelling in state-space form and linearising around an operating point. It has been shown that the proposed controller results in more stability and accuracy than the conventional controllers. Also, eigenvalues are evaluated to find the best controller parameters for the microgrid stability. Finally, the controller response in different operating conditions of a test microgrid is assessed.
