- Abstract
The article discusses the political and legal philosophies of U.S. constitutional law professors and brothers Henry St. George Tucker and Nathaniel Beverly Tucker, both sons of U.S. constitutional scholar St. George Tucker, during the first half of the 19th century. The article analyzes their views on the constitutionality of nullification, promoted by U.S. senator John C. Calhoun, as well as the legal concept of secession compared to their father's political moderation and constitutional views.
