- Abstract
This text briefly analyzes the work about the deconstruction of kinship started by Schneider in the 80's and its unequal influence on the Anglo-Saxon and French-speaking context. The reflections about Schneider's review prepared the way to analyze the changes that have taken place in the last 30 years in the kinship field, family and marriage in Europe and North America. This change questions the cultural concepts deeply rooted in biology, which is by now dominant in the West. The articles of this presentation show in depth the challenge that sets out these changes for kinship specialists, but it's also a change for the actors who, through their choices, strategies and practices are building different types of related-ness, in which biology, choice and will are not only opposed, replaced, assimilated and/or excluded but they are in addition, complementarity, accumulation and/or succession.
