The article offers information on the history, features and future scope of genocide denial laws in the European Union with reference to the 2008 Framework Decision on combating racism and xenophobia. It discusses a summary of the European Court of Human Rights' (ECHR) decisions in Garaudy v. France and Perincek v. Switzerland regarding the freedom of expression as a defense for Holocaust deniers.
