- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of Canada on British politics and sport in the 1920s. The 1931Statute of Westminster and the 1930 British Empire Games are discussed in the context of Canadian Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, who advocated increased independence from British rule. Tensions between political autonomy and collective sport in Canada are discussed.
