- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the development of severe lactic acidosis as an adverse effect of linezolid treatment in a patient with tuberculous spondylodiscitis. The elderly female patient had a history of back and left sciatalgic pain. The treatment was complicated by nausea and vomiting. The antituberculosis treatment and linezolid were stopped, the patient was monitored and treated in intensive care unit for lactic acidosis with repeated bicarbonate infusions.
