- Abstract
The article focuses on membrane transporter proteins. It informs that membrane transporter proteins shifts between conformational states for moving substrates over membranes. The single-molecule experiments can prove to be helpful in studying the transition between these states. Membrane transporters are powerful and effective molecular machines that use electrochemical gradients over the membranes to start the movement of substrates through those membranes. It further tells that the single-molecule experiments are suitable for testing the functional dynamics of proteins which has already removed the gap between the statics and mechanics of protein function.
