- Abstract
The article focuses on the Alliance for the Human Epigenome and Disease (AHEAD) project. The project is intended to provide high-resolution reference epigenome maps that is important in basic and applied research. It can provide understanding on diseases that will head to the discovery of new means in controlling diseases. The major challenges of AHEAD include the initial selection of the significant epigenomic markers, identification of proper pure cell populations, and handling and presentation of data. AHEAD would incorporate epigenetics research that would led in understanding normal and pathological processes. Furthermore, the study would provide important scientific opportunities to maximize translational research to the prevention and cure of human diseases.
