This article discusses the establishment of a digital library of mathematics by researchers at the University of Birmingham in Great Britain. The extent of publication in the field of mathematics and efforts to establish a unified digital archive of mathematical publications are noted. Problems with the collection of materials under copyright for this archive are discussed.
