- Abstract
The article presents the result of a fieldwork which explored the inter-religious co-existence between Christians, Alawi and Sunni Muslims in the Hatay-Region in southern Turkey near the Syrian border. While it is claimed that these ethno-religious groups co-existed and shared in using sacred sites, the author notes that competition occurs during their visits to the ancient ziyeret. The tradition of venerating local saints and visiting the ziyera shrines are described.
