- Abstract
The article focuses on the legal and economic aspects related to factoring that is a mean used for financing of businesses. It discusses the role played by factoring in stabilizing national economy and mentions that the main functions of factoring include providing accounts receivable loans, guarantee customer credit failure, and ledgering and collecting receivables. It categorizes the main benefits of factoring and presents a brief history of various laws and legislative bills in the U.S. related to factoring. Also presented is a table listing factors' lien statutes in various U.S. states.
