- Title
THE RELATION OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION TO THE BROADER PROBLEM OF RELIEF.
- Authors
BURNS, EVELINE M.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the relative importance of unemployment compensation in the program for unemployment relief in the U.S. It is stated that if some states set up laws as per the Social Security Act, on the lines of ten laws already in operation, the scope of unemployment compensation will become relatively small and the residual relief system correspondingly huge. Also mentioned is that no one kind of tax is both appropriate as well as adequate, to finance an unemployment relief program.
