- Title
3. OPTIMISATION OF WORKER PROTECTION.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the need to optimize protection for the workers in nuclear facilities against radiological hazards. The employees themselves can provide important inputs to work planning by utilizing their experience to enhance work efficiency. Worker collective dose should be measured and used to monitor and manage worker exposures. Individual dose management should be flexible in order to assure that all workers are equally protected. Thus, an individual dose limit of 20 mSv/a is restrictive and may actually result into a rise in collective dose.
