- Abstract
The article discusses non-bank financial institutions and risk in the U.S. as of June 2012, focusing on a proposal which calls for a regulatory clarification of the term systemic risk under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. A historic overview of systemic risk in the nation's financial and banking industries is provided, including an analysis of risk in relation to a Chapter 11 reorganization.
