- Abstract
Based on an interpretative philosophical approach, this text aims to study the scope and limitations of the model for critical reading proposed by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia. To address the above, first, it studies how the critical reading tests are designed and what it means to interpret a text; second, it discusses the importance of critical reading for the promotion of practical wisdom, and third, it responds why it is important to conceive reading as a formative experience from creative and plural perspectives.
