Therapeutic presence is an underlying quality of the therapeutic relationship and, it is therefore relevant to psychotherapeutic effectiveness. it is described as the therapist's experience of actually being present in the therapeutic field. To assess therapeutic presence, the Therapeutic Presence Inventory from the therapist's perspective (TPI-T) has been developed. it has been adapted to argentina by rodriguez de Behrends, garcía rossi and eidman The objective of this study is to develop an abbreviated version of the TPI-T adapted to argentina and to study the psychometric properties in order to have a version easier to implement and with evidence of reliability and validity. The Therapeutic Presence Inventory - Brief Version (TPI - BV) is a 10-item questionnaire, with a 7-point Likert-type scale. Materials: the work was based on a sample of 252 clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, residents of the city of Buenos aires and the greater Buenos aires, (argentina). The results indicate reliability as for internal consistency and stability (test-retest) quite acceptable (alpha = .81; r = .67). The factorial analysis carried out, which contributes to the construct validity, indicates the existence of three factors.
