- Abstract
The main objective of this work is to demonstrate the necropopulist character of the Bolsonaro government's narratives and political actions and the potential for violence contained in them against the constitutionalized project of social and democratic welfare state. In the first place, the article demonstrates the ideological bases of the social democracy that was affirmed in the constitutional text through a model of the welfare state. Then, from a typology of violence, it analyzes the possibility of considering as violence government actions that, apparently, can be considered as political options based on a particular worldview. Finally, it seeks to unveil the character of objective violence (systemic, structural and symbolic) that is ingrained in the speeches, interviews and actions of the Bolsonaro government, which directly affect and aim to disrupt the civilizatory-constitutional advance that represented the positivization of the Social and Democratic Welfare State in the Constitution of the Republic of 1988.
