- Abstract
As the localized microbursts or flooding occur frequently due to the unusual weather phenomena, it is the very urgent and important problem to detect these weather hazards using the short range weather radar networks. For a short range weather radar of this purpose, the appropriate method is essential to verify the algorithm performance of this system. Therefore, in this paper, the efficient method to generate a short range weather radar signal was proposed for simulation of various weather phenomena by changing Doppler spectrum parameters. Using the proposed spectrum modeling method, both the strong clutter of a ground surface and man-made structures and the moving clutter such as birds can be easily simulated which often occur in a short range weather radar operation environment. In this paper, various weather signals with typical clutters were simulated using the proposed method and the results were analyzed.
