- Abstract
The author discusses programmed instruction as one learning theory where a complex performance can be reached errorlessly through a series of physically unrelated responses and physical unrelated stimuli. Its basis principle is to teach students all prerequisites prior to asking for a new performance. He notes that learning occurs in an all-or-none steps where each step is a prerequisite for the next. He suggests for theories of learning to stress the behavior of teachers instead of learners.
