- Authors
Canaud, Bernard; Granger-Vallée, Alexandre
- Abstract
The article focuses on the application of ultrapure dialysis fluid (UPDF) and water in hemodialysis. It notes several prerequisites in achieving the microbiological purity of dialysis fluid which include adequate water treatment and distribution system. According to the authors, the use of UPDF decrease inflammatory markers, lessens enemia and improves erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) responsiveness. It also highlights the improved outcome of using UPDF with hemodiafiltration (HDF).
