- Abstract
Oral dexamethasone sodium phosphate solution significantly reduces pruritus and clinical lesions in feline hypersensitivity dermatitis: an open-label study However, there are no studies confirming the treatment efficacy of such products in patients with feline HD.18 Dexamethasone sodium phosphate (DexSP, DexajectSP, Henry Schein; Dublin, OH, USA; 4 mg/mL) is a glucocorticoid solution intended for intravenous administration in horses. B Background - b There are no liquid oral glucocorticoids labelled for management of pruritus and clinical lesions of feline hypersensitivity dermatitis (feline HD). Liquid medications often are more easily administered and may be more palatable to cats than solid tablets, which has been associated with improved owner compliance in following treatment plans.13,26,27 For these reasons, DexSP may be an attractive option for the treatment of feline HD patients.
