- Abstract
This document is a reply to a comment made on a study published in the Journal of Gastroenterology. The authors express their appreciation for the opportunity to discuss scientific issues and address the comment made by Dr. Enomoto. They discuss the reasons for the favorable outcomes in acinar cell carcinoma (ACC) patients receiving FOLFIRINOX compared to GEM + nab-PTX, including the high prevalence of homologous recombination repair (HRR)-related genes. They also mention other studies that support the use of fluoropyrimidine-based regimens in ACC patients. The authors suggest that further research is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms and genetic profiles related to drug metabolism in ACC. They emphasize the importance of comprehensive genomic analysis in cancer genome medicine for discovering optimal treatments.
