The article presents a case study of a 10-year-old white male who was referred due to a one-year history of unusual pigmented lesion on the sole of his left foot. Based on dermatoscopic examination, the lesion has a homogenous distribution of gray-brown spicules. He was eventually diagnosed with tinea nigra, a superficial epidermal infection caused by the fungus Hortaea werneckii.
