- Abstract
A dynamic surface controller is proposed for the control of the rotating stall and surge of an aeroengine. The new control law is simpler than the backstepping method, which suffers from the problem of 'explosion of terms.' The useful nonlinearities that would have been cancelled in a feedback linearizing design are retained in the proposed method. The same controller structure could be employed with or without measuring the rotating stall, and without obtaining the signal of rotating stall amplitude a priori. The design process based on Lyapunov tools and the simulations showed that with the proposed scheme, the boundedness of all signals of a closed-loop system could be assured.
