- Abstract
The feeding ecology of the constituent members of the aerial feeding bird guild was studied in Malaya. Although numbers changed with the movements of migrants, more birds were seen feeding over forested habitats than open areas. Methods of ecological isolation were seen in morphology, flight behaviour and food selection. Seasonal changes in foraging behaviour associated with breeding and migration were found in Pacific Swallows and Barn Swallows. Migrant species were observed to mix freely with residents and no evidence was found for competitive exclusion between the two groups.
