- Abstract
The article discusses the heterosexual adolescent male's physical, psychological, and behavioral metamorphoses that is shown in cinema outside the horror genre. It presents film texts such "Oh, the rivers of sperm I spilled dreaming of her thighs!" from French-Canadian writer director Denys Arcand's Les Invasions barbares (2003) being essential to the discussion. It provides a comparison between "Les Invasions" and the Mexican production "Amores perros (2000)." It states that the continued denial of the possibilities of alternative definitions of masculinity in cinema will endlessly regenerate a narrow and incomplete map of gender geography where adolescent masculinity is inextricably tied to a monstrous form.
