- Abstract
The article discusses a research study on the chemical components of okra associated with its resistance against Amrasca biguttula biguttula (Ishida) or jassid. Sown in an experimental area were nine local okra genotypes including the Pusa sawani, Okra-3 and Dera local that show susceptibility to jassids, three resistant varieties including Makhmali, Green wonder and Punjab selection and three intermediate varieties including Sabz pari, Karam-5 and Clean spineless, all with no plant protection applied for jassid control. Results showed positive correlation coefficient value of crude protein, lignin and nitrogen on jassids while acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and silica showed negative effect on jassid populations.
