- Abstract
In this article, the authors focus on survival rates after using extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for neonatal respiratory failure. They refer to a study by researcher A. Polito et al. in 2013, according to which 1,412 neonates experienced a neurological complication based on the ECMO registry of the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO). They also mention the American Heart Association and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society.
