- Abstract
The article offers information on the history, goals and significance of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) passed by the U.S. Congress, which prohibits the U.S. corporations from bribing foreign officials. It discusses the bribery provisions of the FCPA enforced by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the accounting provisions enforced by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It analyzes the various sanctions and penalties for infringement of the FCPA.
