- Abstract
This article focuses on how the migration of Eastern European Jews to Germany during the German Empire and the Weimar Republic affected the German politics. Several topics are discussed, including how many Eastern European Jews traveled through Germany on their way to the United States from 1880 to 1929, how the German military recruited Eastern European Jews during World War I, and how civil war and political unrest in Eastern Europe between 1914 and 1922 caused the persecutions of many Jewish people and started mass migrations.
