- Abstract
The article compares continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and hemodialysis in children over a 5 1/2 year period. Results reveal that the CAPD patients had higher hematocrit levels, higher serum carbon dioxide and cholesterol levels, lower serum albumin levels and lower blood pressure levels than the hemodialysis patients. In addition, linear growth was better in the CAPD patients with one method of assessment. However, complications were more common in the CAPD patients.
