- Abstract
In January, there was a significant increase in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity in the housing industry. Sekisui House acquired M.D.C. Holdings, while other companies also made notable acquisitions. Castlerock Communities, a subsidiary of Daiwa House, entered Tennessee by acquiring The Jones Company of Tennessee. Century Communities expanded its offerings in the Nashville housing market by acquiring Landmark Homes of Tennessee. Landsea Homes continued its expansion in Texas by acquiring Antares Homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. United Homes Group expanded in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, by purchasing the home building business and assets of Creekside Custom Homes.
