- Abstract
The article discusses the legal and ethical advantages and drawbacks of the use of data concerning opioid abuse, drug-related arrests, and drug overdoses in battling the opioid abuse crisis in the U.S. during the early 21st century. The author argues in favor of data collection and sharing among government agencies at all levels and cites data sharing analysis and initiatives while addressing data security and privacy concerns.
