- Abstract
The article provides a comparative analysis of the biobanking and privacy laws of 20 countries as of 2016, and it mentions the ethical aspects of biobanking, as well as information about a European Union (EU)-U.S. Safe Harbor agreement. The Human Genome Project is addressed, along with the legal aspects of research involving human subjects, data security, and human biological materials. Autonomy and self-determination are examined, along with biobank research ethics.
