GLAGOLITAN TEXT FRAGMENT FOUND IN HUNGARY.
- Authors
HAJNALKA, Magyar
- Abstract
The article discusses the recent archeological discovery of polished mug fragments with inscriptions in the Glagolitian alphabet , the predecessor of the current Cyril alphabet with a different calligraphy, at the digging place of Zalavar, Hungary. Glagolitian was invented by the Byzantine christian proselyte Cyril to adapt the catholic liturgy to the Slavonian language and was used by him and Methodius to spread the faith. The artifacts prove their passage in this area in 865-66.
