- Abstract
The article discusses the history of regional Cebu filmmaking in the Philippines since the 1940s, and discusses the production of films such as "Bertoldo-Balodoy" directed by Piux Kabahar and "Ang Manok ni San Pedro" (St. Peter's Gamecock) by Jose Malcachor. Film journalism in Cebu, directors such as Leonardo Chiu, and motion picture technology are discussed, as well as independent film distribution and social conditions in Cebu.
