Pulmonary Artery Wedge Pressure in the Diagnosis of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
- Authors
Naeije, Robert; Tonelli, Adriano R.
- Abstract
The article focuses on reassessing the pulmonary artery wedge pressure (PAWP) cutoff of 15 mm Hg to exclude pulmonary hypertension (PH) due to left heart diseases (PH-LHD). Harder and colleagues conducted a longitudinal analysis in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), revealing that baseline PAWP > 12 mm Hg predicts progression to PH-LHD and worse transplant-free survival, while another study by Gerges et al.
