- Title
Diasporic Feeling and Displaced Nostalgia A Case Study: Import-eksport and Blodsbånd.
- Authors
Dancus, Adriana Margareta
- Abstract
The article presents criticism on the films "Import-eksport" directed by Khalid Hussain and "Blodsbånd" directed by Marius Holst. It explores the role of affect and nostalgia in depictions of immigrants by Norwegian filmmakers. According to the author, these depictions often ethnicize aggression and violence in order to invoke nostalgia. It is suggested that the themes of gangsters and patriarchs in these films contribute to the exoticization of immigrants. Arranged marriages are also discussed.
